Solar eclipses. Cicadas. Haley’s Comet. Whitney or Bobby entering rehab. All things we don’t think about but we know they happen at certain intervals. Here, the cicadas will emerge from the ground next week and we receive news today that Whit’s entered rehab again.
“The singer, 47, who has struggled with substance abuse in the past, has recently entered an out-patient treatment program.
‘Whitney Houston is currently in an out-patient rehab program for drug and alcohol treatment,” her rep tells PEOPLE in a statement. “Whitney voluntarily entered the program to support her long-standing recovery process.’” [People]
No word on what she’s seeking treatment for but we can guess the whole medicine cabinet – including the Listerine – is in the running. I’m not one to make light of anyone’s struggles with drugs and alcohol, knowing I’m one bump in the road from falling off the wagon at any juncture. Therefore, I hope Whitney finds the help and personal satisfaction she seeks.
But now while we’re here, can we take bets on when her and Bobby’s spawn, Bobbi Kristina, will be following her parents’ Twelve footsteps? She’s already been spotted with that white and her circle of friends isn’t the greatest.

When stars begin to battle personal demons like addiction, it’s usually late in the game by the time the public knows. I have taken it upon myself to be the welcome committee when formerly glorious artists return to the game. Something like Akon, apparently.

Two things happened to spark this…
1. I spied this pic @ C&D and just shook my damn head.
2. I watched a screener of Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins & “Saving All My Love” came on towards the very end of the movie.
That’s when I decided that I definitely missed that old Whitney Houston.
