Since handing off the iPod to my lady friend, I’ve recently reduced myself to mostly CD listening. So, without a burnt copy of Star Slinger’s magic instrumental LP Volume 1, I’ve been left yearning to hear one song specifically, which is his escalating map to happiness, “Bumpkin.” Bursting through your speakers with musical momentum, this one-man-band’s concoction of electric guitars, sing-song samples and current, thumping drums make for an instant good mood upon playing.
