Chamillionaire has long been a rapper who was always capable of more. The formulaic way to get your record in motion is to grab a decent R&B singer with a generic radio-friendly yet suggestive hook and place them alongside a guest spot from someone with a knack for feature spots. That seems to be the approach these days, especially with rappers fighting tooth and nail for radio play. 2005 seems so long ago.  Soldiering on, Chamilionaire is intent to bring H-Town back it’s championship run from a few years back.

“I thought I’d take this opportunity [All-Star Weekend in Dallas, Tx] to remind the rest of the world that Texas is still doing it big when it comes to music.” Chamillionaire says of his ambitious endeavor. “Every artist on the song with me has independent hustle and strength in the streets. It’s an All-Star song so what better place to shoot the video than All-Star Weekend, right here in our own backyard.” – Chamilionaire

Much like many of the actual All-Star Games, the hype & “star” power makes this more appealing right up to the point that anyone actually suits up to play.  By the time  everything is wrapped up all parties involved leave no worse for their troubles, the crowd sees a good show and it’s all forgotten within a week.

Be on the look out if you make to Dallas this weekend, because Cham will be out & about filming during the festivities.

The plan is to shoot each of the guys guerilla-style, as they walk red carpets and mix and mingle at the many A-list events they plan on attending; a style of shooting that award-winning video director, Dr. Teeth, is very comfortable with. The final video will also feature a grand finale performance scene featuring all of the artists to be shot at an undisclosed location.

Something tells me MJ won’t be making a cameo.

There’s three ways to deal with haters. You can either tell them to go suck a railroad spike when the train’s on the way. You can position yourself above them, squat and poop à la Jay-z in “Thank You.” Or you can take the Chamillionaire/Bugs Bunny approach and give them a big hug.

Some people prefer not to deal with them but myself, I’m a big fan of hugging people. Which is why I’ve been singing “Gooooood Morniiing” to my bosses all week. Yeah, yeah, ‘Cham can do better. Cham should go harder.’ But it’s an album titled Venom, let the lil’ non-cussing gremlin be bitter.

The new album will be in stores February 2nd, 2010.
