I hate rap videos for the same reason I hate The Boondocks. I can’t watch the cartoon in good faith because Riley don’t sound like Regina King to me. He sounds more gruff like Roscoe off Martin, minus the snot-affected slur. Switch over to rap. Too many artists put out bullshit videos that don’t match the song at all. In fact, it should be known by now that I generally don’t give a rat’s ass about videos for that simple fact. It don’t match up with the visions that I had in my head.

I think I’ve pondered this before but we’re back @ it due to constantly listening to UnCrowned King & a recent convo with a pal. The homie was telling me how her brother was up @ 2AM calling her brother in-law, looking to get right. Besides the obvious, “I have no shame for self or respect for anyone” issues specific to that situation, I’m still having trouble understanding why people still smoke ready rock. As far as American cities go, Chicago, I love dearly.

But at the same time, there’s it’s violent dual nature that makes it hard to love & enjoy. It’s morbid to think that each one of those markers above tells a story that I wish never had to be told.
