First, if you’re not up on Parks & Recreation, you are seriously missing out. The show is proof that the creators of television still might just have a shred of creativity left in them. The above video – a mock-umentary of the casting call for the role of Leslie Knope – is pure hilarity as we see the leader of one of the most notable Hip-Hop “ensembles” to ever grace the stage takes on the role of a middle-aged white woman. RZA’s performance is nothing short of Oscar-worthy and any video with my future wifey Rashida Jones in it is worth watching if nothing else.

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon is still on the air for two reasons.

1: To prove that God has a sense of humor.  There are roughly 6,755,987,238 people more qualified to helm that show.

2. God’s also a fan of The Roots and he felt it was time for them to become stationary and for the people to come to them.  They’ve paid their dues tenfold and if the show must go on for them to do that, so be it.

In his hair, I bet ?uestlove has b-sides and outtakes from every artist imaginable. I know he does. I remember reading a detailed interview with either him or some other artist, telling how they spent days and weeks jamming, studying and vibing long before anything was ever recorded for album purposes. In fact, I think it was a D’Angelo interview and Brother Love’s presence in the interview became so glaring that it marked my mind, forever etching a vision of him as a musician in the original mold. TSS: Could you give the readers some background on your names and your occupations in Brooklynati?

Von Pea: My name came out about when I was like 14 years old. I used to call myself Von Phenom and I had shortened it to “P” cuz I would always would say “Von Pea or Von P. for short.” And when I was trying to come out with my demos, nobody was commenting on the music, just asking “What does this P. stand for?” So I spelled it out so they can stop asking.
