Like Gotty™ alluded to Music Inspired By A Motion Picture has a nice ring to it. Especially when you step back and look at the amount of work Mr. Cordero has put in over the over the last 5 years. The first video I remember of his is Joell’s “Brooklyn Bullshit,” and even then you knew he wasn’t your average video director.  He always managed to make the image correlate with the lyrics or core essence of the song.  So to see the music accompanying his own body of work is good to see.

DJ Reason, Three/21 Media and clothing label Mighty Healthy join forces to put out this mix dedicated to the Beastie Boys. Reason, also an A&R for Nature Sounds, let it be known he knows his shit. A die-hard fan since he was a kid, this Hand Me Down Puma mix is a Beastie-primer to the unaccustomed. Not bad when you consider Reason’s also working on the new J. Dilla record yet saved time for personal projects like this.

Really, Joell could have given me the “125 Grams” series as an EP and that would’ve been enough for me to crown him. The all five parts combined are like an audiobook set to music, as Mr. Ortiz goes through the autobiographical at a breakneck lyrical pace.
