There should be age & physical requirements for participating in SXSW.
I woke up yesterday @ 4:30 in order to make my early morning flight. When I got to the hotel, it was maybe 9:30-10am in Austin and the hotel seemed to have zombies just floating around looking for coffee, burning squares and generally drifting around aimlessly.
After getting in @ 4:12 in the morning, putting in a full 24 hours of hosting, handshaking & just Hip-Hopping (and a whole lot of gahdamn standing & walking), I see why everybody looked zonked out yesterday. My eyes are swollen from only five hours of sleep and now, I’m the one walking around smoking back-to-back while funneling as much of the hotel’s free coffee as I can in order to get the motor cranking for whatever’s next. I think they should forewarn people that you should probably be under 23 to attend this joint.
Initially, I wanted to see us drop you updates live from the venue but technology (or lack there of) didn’t allow for that. Dah well. We have a lot of footage & flicks so it’s tough to decide where to start. Truth be told, we’ve got enough compiled to post for a while but we’ll spare you. We’ll filter through it all & hit you off with bits & pieces for right now. First up, Hot Spitta performing “Modern Day Hippie” @ the B&T set yesterday. For the record, Curren$y laid it down during his set. No amplified blogger-talk. On a personal level, cat is one funny character (as if you didn’t know after watching Mythblazers) for real & is currently my favorite artist to check for.
