While Raekwon and Ghostface had more exposure this year, The RZA has been going in hard promoting his new book, The Tao Of Wu. Interviews on Time Magazine, Tavis Smiley and The Colbert Report have been stops on his tour in his new role as an author. Although he already penned The Wu-Tang Manual, The Tao… is a more in depth read, touted as a “spiritual memoir.” In the Tavis clip above, check out RZA’s breakdown of how he got his name as well as his hilarious fake interview with Colbert below.

Ever since he destroyed the Bush Administration at the correspondent’s dinner, Stephen Colbert has proven himself to be more than just a spinoff success. He is a comedic genius in his own right. All the recent Nas talk is indicative of the fact that, here and now, Lil’ Homey has finally come of age. Because of Illmatic, Nas has been a fixture throughout hip-hop’s 90s transition from still-counterculture into full on-pop culture. Thus, after some detours along his personal path (i.e. the Escobar era), Jones has finally transformed from unassuming voice of the projects to outspoken voice of resistance for the mainstream.
