The only thing better than The Boondocks is The Boondocks uncensored, uncut with one of those unflattering TV-MA logos plastered on the front. Sorry Adult Swim but grown-ups like their entertainment without inhibitions and little fuzzy things over nipples. Look, I’m a big fan of The Boondocks. I’ll even admit I never actually read the comic strip until after the first season. Backwards, I know. That being said, Aaron McGruder is alright in my book and I’ll support damn near anything the guy does. For the most part, a lot of the comments regarding this season were somewhat lukewarm. Uncle Ruckus is quickly becoming a national treasure. Michael Steele’s first cousin and future Governor of Arizona took to Shade 45 to field calls and launch racist tirades against everyone brave enough to speak on the air. There are just so. many. quotables. My favorite part comes when Ruck promises that the show is going to take shots at Tyler Perry a.k.a. “That n***a that makes all them movies ‘Aww Lawd A N***a Done Went To The Wedding Again.’”

The FedEx driver came today bearing unsolicited gifts. I was really waiting on the UPS doo-doo truck to deliver a pair of Air Max+ 2009′s today but I think this is just as good if not better. No word yet on what the actual ratings were, but those for the season three premiere of The Boondocks had to be through the roof. In a span of 30 minutes (22 if you include commercials), Aaron McGruder’s creation appeared not to miss a beat as they poked and prodded at the historic election of Barack Obama – including the controversial Will.I.Am. single, “D#ck Riding Obama.”

Regardless whether you agree, were massively offended or find yourself on the fence, it’d be hard to argue the idea behind the episode did not hold some truth behind it. With that said, TSS has our own opinion of the program’s return. We’re interested to know how you received the episode.

A society without satire & a sense of humor is a sad sad state. It’s that bit of edge that helps us all keep from taking ourselves too seriously. The trailer for season three of “The Boondocks” hit YouTube, using “Exhibit C” as the backing track and the phrase “The truth is back” as part of it’s slogan. A couple of weeks ago LC recited one of the commandments TSS was founded upon some five years ago: Dave Chappelle is an unquestioned genius. Because of this, Dave is one person I’ve always hoped would reemerge. He won’t, I know, but let’s just say he did decide return. Where would it be? What would he do?
