“Fight and you’ll never survive/Run and you’ll never escape/So just fall from grace…”
NY producer Hasan Insane is well known for his remixes. This time, he’s back alongside with TapeMaster Inc. releasing his version of American Gangster titled Black Ceasar. Hasan has had quite the buzz over the net after the release of his first two mixtapes – Perfect Strangers and The Pink Album. Around Janurary, he became hesitant to release his after hearing all the AG remixes but was 70% finished and proceeded to say “good music is never time sensitive” so he decided to finish the tape. I have come to love the last track “Fallen” and asked Hasan to break the production down for me.

“Fallen” was one of the more difficult tracks to remix because Bilal’s vocals fit the original to a tee, so for starters I knew I had to create a new hook that didn’t take away from the original vibe of the song. After days of sample searching, I came across this one artist I’ve never heard before and as soon as the needle hit the record all I heard to myself was ‘Said that I would stop, before I even started, when I get to one brick then the game I would depart with…’ I chopped the sample up and the drums came to me just as quick. They were Rza-inspired if you couldnt tell already (Laughs). I started to fool around with cutting a few Jay lines up for the hook but felt it needed more than that. Ten minutes later, it was in Jesse Boykins inbox. He’s sick with the pen and I knew he would add that final touch that made the song complete. I usually add intros and outros after I’m done. I was watching “Carlito’s Way” on HBO two nights before I started the song and heard that line and it fell into place immediately.
