One artist that had a considerable amount of buzz before and definitely since SXSW has been the New Orleans MC Dee-1. Thanks to the strength of “Jay, 50 and Weezy” and his stellar project, I Hope They Hear Me Vol. 2, Dee landed himself on one of the hottest bills in Austin, the Vibe House. Nick from HardKnock, April Bombai, Devi Dev and I were starving after all the crap ended on Friday night in Austin. Tired but filled with too much child-like energy, we wandered the street before agreeing that another night of pizza would be the choice again. We walked to one of the eighty pizza joints located on 6th Street and, while we were about to place our orders, then glanced out to notice Fabby Davis, Jr. walking our way with a few pals. There was something different about SXSW this year that was hard to put a finger on at first. Parking was more difficult. Drinks were less potent and there were suddenly women showing up on 6th street at night wearing short skirts and stilettos. The indie event was starting to feel like a tourism spectacle, but the changes were mostly subtle.

December rumors turned to semi-confirmed hints based off a late February teaser clip and now we have confirmation that Kanye Omari will be descending on ATX next Saturday, March 19th at midnight at the VEVO Power Station.
