Whether most knew it or not, Swizz has been releasing songs on Mondays, one which did produce it a handful of notable tracks that may have gotten swept aside since several artists had similar weekly music seminars going. However, Swizz ended his releases fittingly on a high note by dropping “Speechless,” a track dedicated to his newborn son featuring his wife, Alicia Keys, and old Ruff Ryder running mate Eve. I had a strong suspicion that Puff’s latest wasn’t going to wind up being as bad as everyone hopes. In fact from my first couple spins I can say, without gritting my teeth, that it is decent, at worst. But as not-terrible as the Diddy-Dirty Money collabs are, my real guilty pleasure is admittedly, the Bugatti Boyz collabs, because the good ‘ol constable is making a real shot at 2010’s Most Improved Player award. His verse on this album is only serves to prove my point. Though, of course, as usual, the real judgment of Paree’s Last Train will be known once it passes through The Crew’s grinders.

And of course, the visuals to “Ass on the Floor,” are out as well, which was accompanied by an informative essay courtesy of eskay the other day.

In an interesting turn of events, Maino and Swizz Beatz round up fellow NYC ambassadors in Jim Jones, Jadakiss and Joell Ortiz and instead of having an East Coast pow-wow kicking rhymes about bodegas and Belvedere®, the G-Men opt to revisit a West Coast staple that is instantly recognizable the moment the needle hits the vinyl’s groove. Thanks to the producer’s hypnotic keyboard melody and Mr. Rhymes’ endless strings of assonance, “Bad One” feels a decade younger than last week’s forgettable folly.
