My personal opinion has long been that “Drake: The Rapper” is superior to “Drake: The Singer.” Fight me ‘til death but there’s no arguing that he can spit alongside the best of them when he decides to go off. The most appealing thing about his music is its brutal honesty and exposing of his vulnerabilities. For whatever reason, his harmonizing and melodies just fail to capture the same emotions. Let’s try this again.

I couldn’t help but notice the overwhelming attention the album cover from Busta’s lastest mixtape received opposed to how well him and Fizzy Womack traded bars over some DJ Scratch kelvin. I could’ve swore the “judging books by their cover” principle was reinforced in kindergarden but the innernuts has it’s way of steering folks wayward so that’s where I come in.

My responsibility as an album reviewer is to point cats in the direction of the greener pastures since there’s storeloads of music hitting the net every given hour. Personally, I avoid Lil’ Wayne affiliated projects and artists, figuring that eventually what’s out there will trickle down to me through Young Money’s domination of Hip-Hop for everyone under 25. I do this because, frankly, my Weezy like/dislike ratio for every song he graces is also under 25. In a world of oversaturation, Young Money’s the King of the shotgun approach to music.
