Parts of Sleigh Bells’ Treats border on cringe-worthy because they’re far too loud to enjoy (unless you’re this chick). But when I zone out to “Rachel” and “Rill Rill” together on repeat, I can get an immeasurable amount of work done. Both are charged enough to keep the wheels spinning without being distracting. Sleigh Bells is loud. Like M.I.A. on acid loud. Or Beastie Boys with ADHD loud. The electro-pop duo of guitarist, producer and songwriter, Derek Miller and vocalist, Alexis Krauss are making a lot of noise. Literally.
