On most weekends, the most I hear about Saturday Night Live is through Twitter. I’m usually out somewhere likely preparing to embark upon a bad decision, but last night’s episode was apparently one for the record books. Always aware of the most pressing issues in pop culture, hearing SNL had a Jeremy Lin skit was more expected than it was surprising. Read the rest of this entry »
In the latest issue of GQ, Sleigh Bells have a photo spread which features singer Alexis Krauss in several different shapes and sorts of animal print clothing. Total irrelevance except that A.) I’ve had a jones for her ever since seeing her perform a couple of times. Read the rest of this entry »
That impending tsunami of sound gathering strength out yonder is Sleigh Bells’ 2012 renaissance. Following the leak of their upcoming album’s first single, “Born to Lose,” the Brooklyn duo crash down upon eager listeners again with “Comeback Kid.” Read the rest of this entry »
Ready for some unapologetic noise pop, kids? The Sleigh Bells couldn’t give a rats either way as they release the first single from Reign of Terror. Read the rest of this entry »
The FIFA series has provided more than triumph and heartbreak on the virtual pitch for almost two decades. EA’s golden line of footie games has long featured an eclectic mix of records featuring artists from all over the globe. Besides, it only makes sense for the world’s game to headline acts from the US to New Zealand. The series’s tunes has long served as a great way to expand your listening boundaries. FIFA 12, however, features one of the best soundtracks I’ve heard in a sports game in a while. Read the rest of this entry »
I saw the Brooklyn duo Sleigh Bells perform live last year on two separate occasions. But even a remix with one of the industry’s premier DJs takes shotgun when a particular Mrs. Shawn Carter wants to collaborate with the Brooklyn duo’s Derek Miller. Read the rest of this entry »
This may not be an official video per se, but it’s official none the less thanks to the imaginative mind of Bo Mirosseni. Just imagine The Karate Kid meets Searching For Bobby Fischer in all of it’s low budget glory. And you can stop worrying about the little guy from M.I.A.’s “Born Free” video, because he appears to be doing just fine. Other than that, I’ll let the video & song speak for itself, because at this point your mind should be made up if you’ve given Sleigh Bells a fair shot.
I will leave with this though. If you get a chance to see these two live, take it. TC & I caught them on Halloween & it was a rockin’ good time. Just leave your good kicks at the crib.
Who Dat, Who Dat?? Why just your friendly neighborhood Sleigh Bells stopping by to liven things up a bit. As rowdy and rambunctious as their music is, you’ll have to forgive them for their subdued demeanor in this video. They’re just cool like that. Read the rest of this entry »
