Slaughterhouse’s Hot 97 Freestyle Session With Funkmaster Flex

12.21.11 Written by Raj

I still vividly remember when Slaughterhouse came on to Green Lantern’s radio show and for 20 minutes proceeded to completely annihilate Hov’s “D.O.A.” record until there was nothing left but the occasional dust particle here and there. Truth be told, I still go back and play that jawn on occasion. And only two years later Funkmaster Flex got to host his own demolition site and give the four-headed monster the keys to the wrecking ball and bulldozer. Read the rest of this entry »

Yelawolf Feat. T.I. & Slaughterhouse – “Hard White (Remix)”

11.02.11 Written by David D.

I have an idea: from now on, every single from Shady Records rappers should come with a 2.0 version featuring the whole team. Because this shit right here is just rappity rap rap brilliance. I probably could jot down more about why this song is great, but you’re probably skipped the write-up and went to the song as soon as you saw the title. Read the rest of this entry »

Slaughterhouse – “The Illest”

10.13.11 Written by Raj

Well, there’s no way this song was going to be making any albums anytime soon. The Biggie sample on the hook took care of that. But we’re all winners since Flex dropped this teaser from Slaughterhouse’s Shady debut for free.99 earlier today. Read the rest of this entry »

2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cyphers: The Highs & Lows

10.12.11 Written by David D.

The 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards happened last night but nobody cared. Rappers, chains and shoutouts pretty much sum up what we can assume happened without even putting ourselves through the torture. The prime reason anyone tunes into the show is to catch the cyphers and, thankfully, the Internet makes it so we can catch those without ever having subjecting ourselves to the rest of f*ckery. The iPod Shuffle – “Move On (Remix)”

05.28.11 Written by Beware

My, how things change. About this time two years ago, the then-recently-formed four-headed monster known as Slaughterhouse was going on a rampage, destroying anything they touched. One victim they kept in-house was Joey and Joell’s candid collabo from Ortiz’ Free Agent mixtape, “Move On,” which was reworked to add in the additional two butchers. Read the rest of this entry »

Ludacris Feat. Slaughterhouse & Claret Jai – “F5 (Furiously Dangerous)”

04.25.11 Written by Gotty™

Boy, I don’t know who greenlighted the “furiously dangerous,” screeching cat but here’s a track from the highly-anticipated F5 movie soundtrack. Yes, I said “highly,” which is largely subjective but I’m guessing somebody cares about the film and the music associated with it. Read the rest of this entry »

Eminem Feat. Slaughterhouse & YelaWolf – “2.0 Boys”

03.02.11 Written by Raj

Disregard everything on the Slaughterhouse EP. That was just some filler cuts to get out of their E1 contract. With their Shady deal in full bloom now, everyone’s back on their A-game. Read the rest of this entry »

Slaughterhouse – “Sun Doobie”

02.01.11 Written by TC

The next-gen microphone murderers have reunited with Denaun Porter to do bodily harm to those “Kingdom Come” keys and celebrate their new birth on Shady Records all the same. Joell slits the lamb’s neck while Crooked relieves it of its wool. Nickel Nine takes it the woodshed where Joey is ready to finish the deed. Repeat this for a 16 hour span and we know have enough blood to take the place of the water in the East River. Read the rest of this entry »

The Week That Was: The H.A.M. Edition

01.15.11 Written by J. Tinsley

Kanye and Jay-Z went “H.A.M.” and we wondered if people will ever take the time to learn of its true origins.

– DJ Burn One managed to get Rittz, Yelawolf and Big K.R.I.T. together on one track. The outcome was amazing. White Jesus dropping soon. Read the rest of this entry »

Slaughterhouse Feat. The Lox – “Put Some Money On It (Remix)”

01.13.11 Written by Ben Lampin

With aggressive flows and scrunch face inducing punchlines, Slaughterhouse and The Lox come together to bring to mind a boxing match on this remix of “Put Some Money On It.” The beat features an uptempo pace and a vocal sample, which provides the audio equivalent of a ring for these verbal prizefighters to show off their skill. Just like the square circle, it gives them the space to do what they need to do with no unnecessary adornments or frills. Read the rest of this entry »

Slaughterhouse Feat. Dres – “Back On The Scene”

01.10.11 Written by Ben Lampin

Don’t look now, but everyone’s favorite flame-spitting supergroup is back. Slaughterhouse returns to the headphones of the masses with “Back on the Scene,” a lyrical exhibition that doubles as a headnod to Black Sheep’s classic “The Choice is Yours.” Over a beat that updates the frenetic pace and feel of the original for today’s ears, Royce, Crooked I, Joell and Joe Budden do what they do best, which is tear up microphones each in their own unique fashion. Eminem & Royce Da 5’9″ – “Living Proof”

11.15.10 Written by Beware

Channeling an audible aggression once perfected by their fallen comrade, Marshall Mathers and Nickel Nine bring back their bad & evil act for this nuclear new millennium on the freshly leaked “Living Proof.” Bragging, boasting and than dragging roasted bodies over string strikes and guitar riffs similar to a certain Doctor we dig, these two Detroit legends basically put on a clinic for every other MC holding a pen. What to make of the tagged treat, only time will tell. Read the rest of this entry »

Eminem – “Ridaz” x “Session One”

06.21.10 Written by TC

Without giving a strict compare & contrast analysis on the rest of Recovery, “Ridaz,” an iTunes bonus track for Em’s new album is this shi!t, right? The diggy Dr. Dre infused the right amount of adamantium (read: metal) over his trademark loop ‘n snare to remind us all why he’s still the reigning beat chiropractor. Read the rest of this entry »
