“It’s Like That” – Review Of Señor Kaos’ The Kaos Effect

02.04.12 Written by TSSCrew

Words By Samir S.

For rappers like Señor Kaos – guys with enough talent and guile to break away from a 9-5 existence in pursuit of artistic dreams – the real challenge is figuring out whether they actually have something fresh to bring to the table besides raw skill. Señor Kaos doesn’t possess anything near resembling a radical new style, so on The Kaos Effect, he attempts to make the old new again – adopting somewhat of a Hip-Hop renaissance character in the process. Señor Kaos – “Til Your Dead” Video

04.25.11 Written by Gotty™

Señor Kaos keeps things all the way cultured as his usual M.O. No frills, just lyrical punches to the jugular, a rolling beat courtesy of DJ Eleven and a visual by DVID Films. Read the rest of this entry »

Upstairs Studio Presents 4-Ize – Professional Ignorant

12.06.10 Written by TC

The one they call 4-Ize doesn’t have a lick of sense but possesses some skills in his microphone endeavors. That’s why he’s proclaiming himself as the Professional Ignorant for his album to the streets. But don’t confuse his intentional buffoonery with slacking in the studio. Not only does the ATL Hawk’s LP have a plethora of witty punchlines and Trading Places excerpts to gel the monkey business together, but there is also firepower in the hired help like B.o.B, De La Soul, Gucci Mane, and, of course, Señor Kaos. Kevin Nottingham Presents Mama Said Knock You Out 20th Anniversary Remix Album

08.26.10 Written by TC

In most circles, LL Cool J’s Mama Said Knock You Out is considered his album milestone. Personally, I’m more partial to Mr. Smith as far as the total package is concerned but it is a fact that his legendary 4th album saved the self-proclaimed G.O.A.T. from the obscurity his fellow peers went on to suffer from as Hip-Hop continued to expand. Señor Kaos & Punchline – “Boomin System”

08.17.10 Written by Patrick M.

This latest salvo from Señor Kaos and Punchline betrays the roots of the Southern Hip-Hop Kaos grew up with. No this track has more of a New York spin, bringing back memories of ’80s style boomboxes and block parties. Read the rest of this entry »

Señor Kaos Feat. Ekundayo & Stat Quo – “Bad Bad Man”

08.05.10 Written by TC

Uncompromising in his talents to successfully do microphones bodily harm, Señor Kaos remains nice wit’ it midway through the 2010 fiscal year. There aren’t too many ATLiens engulfed in the lyrical diaspora opposed to keeping it trill and kuntry, but The Kaos is in full effect to feed your mind bars of battle-ready dominance. 4-Ize x Don Cannon – Off The Top Rope

05.20.10 Written by TC

Hip-Hop can be like WWE at times but 4-Ize plays neither hero nor heel. Instead he would rather stand on the top turnbuckle with a megaphone and hit you punchlines that hit you like an elbow drop to the head. Joining him and Don Cannon in the squared circle for their latest summer slam are the likes of GLC, De La Soul and suprisingly Señor Kaos. Read the rest of this entry »

The 808 Experiment Freestyle Series

01.25.10 Written by Gotty™

When alllll of those Atlanta artists got together to do promo for SMKA’s The 808 Experiment: Vol. 2, a whole lot of filming went down. Besides the “WTF is SMKA” & “In Your Own Words” videos, they also shot a handful of freestyle clips. The one above features the Señor Kaos, Jay West & Playboy Tre, backed by Parker Smith on guitar. Below, Dreamer of Hollyweerd and FKi take their turn @ the mic. And there’s still another installment featuring The Canz & Tom P, plus one more to go.

And it was all filmed by our people, The SP Agency, who happen to be putting the finishing touches on their video coverage of Friday night’s release party. *Beats fist to chest* We got you covered.

4-Ize Feat. Señor Kaos – “Classic Example” Video

01.18.10 Written by TC

This is sick. In any/which way you wanna spin the word. From the demented (and brilliant) minds of 4-Ize, Señor Kaos and film group Studio 8 (directed by Mike Moore), comes a “Classic Example” of an entertaining video. It’s verbal manslaughter with the visual evidence of the crime. Read the rest of this entry »

Trailers, Teasers & Things To Come….

The Avon Barksdale Story Trailer

Just in time for my annual Wire winter marathon, comes an in-depth look of an intricate layer that made HBO’s masterpiece the greatest reality TV show ever. One of The Wire’s greatest phenomenons was its ability to allow viewers to sympathize or even justify the series of immoral practices displayed by the street players. (Avon Barksdale’s ordering of killing witnesses after a successful trial comes to mind.) This looks to be the complete opposite with The Avon Barksdale Story, which aligns the real Avon/Bodie with Vlad the Impaler as they document some of his own heinous acts with some of Wire creator David Simon’s news clippings as fuel.

The Avon Barksdale Story will be available on WSHH DVD March 10th, 2010.

Rapper Big Pooh – The Purple Tape Documentary

Every the diligent lil’ bro, Rapper Big Pooh is back for what could be one of the most creative projects of the month (if not year). Combining his mojo flow with Black Milk’s beats and mixing power of DJ Jaycee, amounts to one potent Purple Tape. Let’s just hope the midget from Minnesota doesn’t get wind of this as he’s known to throw a hissy fit if you so much as sing his songs in the shower.

Here’s the first drop of purple rain.

4-Ize – “Classic Example” Trailer

Equally as important as having a dope track is the engaging visuals to match. This looks to be no problem for 4-Ize, the Atlanta rapper with the endless rhyme book. From what I hear, there’s plenty of torture motherfucker © Wu-Tang with enough chainsaws, knives and axes to give Leatherface a heart attack. The cut also features Señor Kaos and Punchlyne from the mixtape Illuminated Animals, which is available now.
