After Kanye had the most talked about meltdown of all time, Saturday Night Live spoofed him, embedding the momentary loss senses into American pop folklore. Mr. West responded in song, telling the show and cast to kiss his whole ass, more specifically his asshole.

Well, it seems as if a game of kiss and make-up went down as ‘Ye took to the SNL stages to help the show with the new season’s second episode. The rapper altered the offending line with a whole new verse and, in turn, was allowed to transform the traditional Grand Central Station-themed backdrop to a blurring, heavenly sea of white. He also brought along Pusha T and approximately 20 swan-like ladies as props.

The overexposure on the Katy Perry & Elmo’s tawdry relationship isn’t dying down just yet. Not that I’m complaining because it’s more unsolicited gawking that we get to do. Even though Elmo’s promised a make-up date with Katy, nobody wants to see a censored remake. In Fall 2009, the Shake Weight captured The Crew’s hearts and imaginations. Clearly the writers over at SNL frequent the site, as they saw the same comedic possibilities with the exercise machine that we did.

Since my original Shake Weight post, I’ve gotten a text every time a friend of mine sees a weird, potentially pornographic infomercial. While it’s nice to be on my friends’ minds, it’s slightly weird to get a text that reads “I saw a group of women look like they were giving a handy to an inanimate object and it made me miss you!” Read the rest of this entry »

I have better odds of winning the Daily 5 on an easy pick than catching a brand new SNL at 11:35 p.m. on a Saturday night. So, it’s too bad I didn’t grip a ticket, because after a long day working on projects around the house, I plopped down on the couch and happened to tune into Tina Fey making another miraculous comeback to her old Saturday night stomping grounds. The current Date Night star seemed right at home, carrying the show with roles as a whorish PGA announcer, a school teacher openly infatuated with Justin Beiber, and another spot-on Sarah Palin impersonation. Well, it’s about time SNL was funny. Of course, it took a third party to deliver seven minutes of his own material to create the show’s funniest moments since Sarah Palin was handing the show comic gold on a silver platter. Zach Galifianakis is one of the top comedians doing it right now, so many were looking forward to this episode. Unfortunately, a bunch of the skits fell flat. The monologue, though, was a home run. This came out a few weeks back, and I was planning on keeping it to myself like a secret gem in my safe keeping for forever and ever, Amen. But eff it; the world deserves its mastery.

I have few words to describe it other than for me, Andy and Co. have outdone themselves over at SNL (which is still a funny show, by the by.) This is just three minutes of quotables that I now say to myself on the daily…i.e. when a lobbyist gets in my face, “I ain’t gonna be part of your system,” or someone complains about my story, they just get a “Groooouuund!” Please also apply as you see fit to your daily goings on.
