Jean’s musical output hasn’t increased as much as I hoped since she linked up with Talib’s Blacksmith movement. Sure, Jeanius got its proper release, but other than that fans have been patiently waiting.  What I am grateful for are the strides her flow has made in the mean time and, while not an equal trade-off, it’s something that will help her down the line. Thank you, RJD2. Thank you for continually making music videos that are not only enjoyable to watch because of their originality and lightheartedness, but also that don’t stoop down to the contrived levels of crap most choose on the regular. You’ve always been a trendsetter of sorts, showcasing an eclectic sense of sample-based skills on the 1′s and 2′s that you weren’t afraid to step away from when your inner musician wanted to blossom. And now, your visual prowess is bringing your creativity full-circle. A true artist, indeed.

That still doesn’t mean I have to like the actual song, though.
