If you peeped “Bagpipes From Baghdad” yesterday, a leak from Eminem’s Relapse, you may have noticed the song was a direct jab at happily married couple Nick Cannon & Mariah Carey. Over Dr. Dre’s spiraling Irish instrumentation, Eminem spews ether like:

“I ain’t playin’ no fuckin’ more/Nick Cannon you prick/I wish you luck with the fuckin’ whore…”

or

“I mean I really want ya bad you cunt/Nick you had your fun/I’ve come to kick you in your sack of junk…”

Suffice to say, Mr. Cannon is less than amused and spazzed on his blog:

I’m taking full action on you Eminem. I don’t know why no one has stood up to your bitch ass yet. But I guess it’s going to take a corny, wack rapping, boy toy from Nickelodeon to set you straight. And trust, I am going to be relentless. Even though I got a lot of other obligations and occupations, you are my new full time job “homey”! I can’t say I’ve ever been a huge fan of Em or hype, but I <3 savvy marketing and promotions. His Relapse project is gaining momentum. The video for “3 A.M.” premieres tonight at 10 P.M. EST on Cinemax, which is unheard of as far as I can remember. Also, these promo pill bottles below gave me a giggle & the closest drug reference I’ve seen since Rae’s crack vial-inspired purple tape.

Remember when “My Name Is” came out and the Hip-Hop world was shaken to the core by an actual White rapper displaying lyrical ferocity like “Hi kids, do you like violence?/Wanna see me stick Nine Inch Nails through each one of my eyelids?” Remember how the hood was blasting that track on every corner?

Or when “The Real Slim Shady” was getting heavy rotation in every club? Or how “Without Me” showed the mature, seasoned Eminem that we had all been waiting for?

Oh, this doesn’t ring a bell? That’s because those things never happened, McFly. For over a decade (with a slight hiatus), Eminem has stuck to a formula: drop an obnoxiously silly but catchy first single that’s guaranteed MTV airtime. I’ll venture to say that none of these aforementioned singles gets played when you listen to any of Em’s first three albums. Those songs aren’t for us. They aren’t made with the Hip-Hop purist in mind.
