Packer Shoes has been behind some of Reebok’s best collaborations as of late and the Teaneck, NJ retailer has recently teamed up with the brand to push out a pair of Reebok Court Victory Pump’s that celebrate the U.S. Open in a pretty unique way. Read the rest of this entry »
Leaving nothing sacred and no copyright left infringed, Ross and Meek turn “Tupac Back” into “Reebok Back,” in what I presume is a ad-in-song for Swizz and his Kamikaze Reebok sneaker. To Reebok and their owner adidas, blatant product endorsement are nothing out of the ordinary but the promo moves just don’t work. Read the rest of this entry »
“Streetwear staple 10.Deep has another footwear collaboration up its sleeves, following the PRO-Keds kicks that released earlier this year. This Reebok Night Sky Mid is dressed in brown suede and a light navy blue colorway. Read the rest of this entry »
John Wall may not know where he’ll be suiting up once the NBA tips off in October, but he knows what he’ll be lacing up in for the foreseeable future. By signing a $25 million endorsement deal with Reebok, he can go ahead and get used to swimming in the millions now. As for his shoes, who knows what Reebok has up their sleeves. It’s probably been a good 10 years since they made a splash in the sneaker world and have to be eager to attempt to make their presence felt once again. Read the rest of this entry »
Despite my affinity for Nike’s, I think it’s Reebok that cemented my appreciation for sneakers. I got a pair of the Blacktop Pumps right before third grade and I was on top on the world. I don’t know how I convinced my mom to get those at JC Pennys, but she did. About a week later I had to take them back because she saw on the news that several kids had been killed over them over where I caught the bus for school everyday. Packer Shoes in New Jersey was one of the stores selected to participate and they went a step above & beyond, by having 5th Platoon’sDJ Vinroc compile a mix to accompany their shoe., featuring clips of NBA announcers marveling over Dominique highlights spliced into the tracks.
Even though 99.7854% of the NBA analysts out there picked the Lakers and Cavs to play in the Finals, but we all know what happens to the best-laid plans. Now, I’m not going to count Cleveland out; I’ll leave that to all of you. Orlando’s had trouble closing things out and LeBron is LeBron.
Regardless, I bet Nike (and the suits at Vitamin Water too) is all sorts of hyperventilating and panicking with egg on their faces after pumping seemingly millions into a Bron/Kobe battle that we may not see. This is all too reminiscent of a similarly embarrassing situation Reebok put itself in back in 1992.
Dan O’Brien and Dave Johnson will go down as two monumental and costly (for Reebok) busts in sports history. LeBron and Kobe have Read the rest of this entry »
