Thanks in part to the Notorious movie, Hip-Hop has been fortunate to undergo a Biggie resurrection of sorts on the World Wide Web. The forgotten videos, unreleased music, the B.I.G. comadarie — all have been an invigorating compliment to a legend who basically batted 1.000 in his short but storied career. On this twelfth anniversary of his tragic assassination, some of rap’s active players such as Jean Grae, Emilio Rojas, Uncle Murda and Styles P. have linked up with DJ Drama and red-hot production trio Cookin Soul to revisit a handful of those Chris Wallace classics.

As far as I’m concerned, there’s NO SUCH thing as too much Notorious B.I.G. coverage. As long as the Internet permits, his memory will be fresh in the minds of the TSS community. Thanks to TheMeaningOfDope, who have been having a Biggie week in honor of the Notorious release, there’s a slew of old/new Biggie goodness unleashed upon us as if Bad Boy had their own holiday. My boy just copped a whip with XO Vision and lately he’s been buying up music video DVDs from the swap meet. We were just cruising around the other day, watching one that pitted Pac and B.I.G. videos back to back against each other, when all of a sudden Supercat’s “Dolly My Baby” came into the mix and we both had laugh attacks.
