ESPN is reporting that New York Giants WR Taya Biddle is recovering from gunshot wounds to his hand and leg while visiting his family in Decatur, Alabama.

Decatur police said in a statement Thursday that Biddle was shot outside a residence and was treated and released from a hospital. Police said there was no evidence Biddle caused or provoked the shooting. Biddle was promoted from the Giants’ practice squad after receiver Plaxico Burress was suspended for a game in September.

How ironic. Either Biddle’s hometown rivals Lil’ Haiti or Plaxico sought the services of a witch doctor to curse his spot before the team gave him the pink slip. Now. By now, you’ve been more than debriefed in the last incident in the neverending saga that his Plaxico Burress’ 2008 season. All the bonehead behaviors, the comparisons to Chedda Bob, his agent Drew Rosenhaus giving a less than convincing rationalization & Bloomberg wanting Plax to do a spell in the bing.

In Plaxico’s defense, I did not pass judgment as I am a firm believer in the value of a properly holstered firearm with me at all times, whether I be at Applebee’s or the club. Don’t get me wrong though, because I’m also an even more firm believer in the proper usage & handling of those same firearms.

Maybe though, we should factor in this overlooked tidbit: One week prior, Plaxico’s teammate & fellow receiver, Steve Smith, had the blicker pointed to his head & was robbed …by the motherfucker who drove him home. Read the rest of this entry »
