After a whirlwind past couple of days that began with”Daykeeper” being nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Urban/Alternative Performance (say that fast, three times), The Foreign Exchange finally was able to drop an e-note of thanks & accompanying video for their friends, fans & supporters.
“We have prepared a short video (with the help of our frequent collaborator Matt Koza), that describes the FE story and gives an overview of our journey from random obscurity to fully independent Grammy nominated artists. Consider this our pre-Grammy acceptance speech…lol. We encourage all of you to pass this along and spread the word, as we feel our story is a big inspiration to artists everywhere. Every once in a blue moon, the good guys do win.”
Word up. Occasionally, the good guys do get to stay true to their craft and receive recognition in the process. Or, as my wise old man would say, “the sun even shines on a dog’s ass every now and then.” Well, maybe that doesn’t fit this situation. But still, I’m happy for these two, their new label and the artists under their umbrella. Much success moving forward fam.
