As these long, cold lockout-tainted days drift by, I really want to think about on-the-court NBA basketball, which is difficult since those sort of stories are few-and-far amid off-court tales and alternate summer vacation plans surrounding the lockout. After two years of waiting, Spanish star Ricky Rubio reportedly has finally agreed to come over to the Minnesota Timberwolves for the 2011-12 NBA season. The young Spainard has great court vision, handles and passing skills and he showed the ability to match up with the NBA’s best point guards in the Gold Medal game of the 2008 Olympics. All eyes are on Kobe and QB’s finest small forward in Ron Artest to repeat for LA. Don’t get us started on Lamar and Sasquatch Kardashian. On the other end of the spectrum Blake Griffin is due for some posters and looks to be a shoe in for Rookie of the Year. Greg Oden has another year to prove he’s not a modern day Sam Bowie and AI is looking to breathe new life in his career in Memphis of all places.
