All week long, the “sports guy” at my job has been talking about some “Carrier Classic” between the Army and Air Force that will be played tonight on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. I feigned just enough interest to not appear rude and quickly found a reason to finish the conversation, walking away each time thinking “why in the hell would they play a football game on an aircraft carrier?” However, when he swapped “football” with “basketball” and then replaced “Army vs. Air Force” with preseason number one North Carolina vs. Michigan State on Veterans Day, the boy MZ’s interest level went from 2 to 10. Let’s just go ahead and keep it all the way funky, any Jordan Brand hybrid is a flashpoint for debate. People may get up in arms when they see the signature models chopped and screwed but in rare instances like the Jordan Spizike the debate is pretty one-sided or closed all together. I’d like to petition that the Air Jordan 2.0 get a hood pass also.

First, they put together a Gucci-esque colorway with a very premium feel to it and now this colorway pops up. Off top, putting wolf grey and cement in the description of any sneaker gets my attention and that metallic gold 360 Air sole is perfection. The bottom line is that reinventing old models helps out Jordan Brand’s bottom line and I’m fine with their efforts to repave memory lane because at least we get a Starbucks out of the deal every now and then.
