With the advent of the first potentially interesting vice presidential debate in history, Contra™ and I were horrified to learn the whole thing will be scripted.
Talk about a bailout.
I know ol’ Crazylegs Biden is a terrifying force of nature that surely none of us would wish to face-off with, but come ooooon. Correct me if I’m wrong, but if you need to be briefed so heavily on politics you need a script to remember it all for a political debate, you probably wouldn’t make a very good president when it comes to, say, talking to the world’s leaders on the spot. Or being interviewed by the press. Or, realistically, anything.

Thursday afternoon the Senate Judiciary Committee voted 14 – 4 for The Enforcement of Intellectual Rights Act which would allow the U.S. Department to prosecute copyright infringement cases without having to go through civil court. The act would also create a Cabinet position which would report directly to the President. They would be responsible for creating a worldwide plan to combat piracy. Read the rest of this entry »
