Oh, Trill Ent., what you should’ve/could’ve/would’ve f*ckin’ been. Had The Pimp not died in his sleep and Boosie had better judgment, things could be totally different. During my senior year at Hampton, Foxx’s Street Gossip and then later the classic “Wipe Me Down” had a young Tins thinking the future was bright for this guy, his lane and target audience considering. Fast forward four years and buddy has all but been relegated to sporadic YouTube videos.

“They Say” sees Foxx addressing those who question his decisions to live his life the way he chooses. He’s going to get as high as he wants, as drunk as he wants and pop as many pills as he wants. And there ain’t a damn thing you, me or his family can do about it. According to him, life is fine and the money is ever better, and it very may well be. But given how this video had a whooping three scenes shown in succession and maybe about five bottles in total, times appear to be harder than being led to believe. If this is an accurate portrayal of Foxx being successful, I’d hate to see what it’s like when he’s falling on hard times.

It’s whatever though. If he’s happy, then so be it. We’ve all got our own set of issues to deal with, myself included.

There’s always been a love/hate relationship with videos like this for me. Think back to the first time you saw Pac’s “Hail Mary” visual. It was dope because his spirit was still being allowed to haunt Hip-Hop. But it was also depressing because you couldn’t see the physical help paint what the lyrics were portraying.
