04.17.11Women in music too often are sexualized, their curvy bodies projected and valued over their voices. Vinia Mojica never fell into the sexpot category mostly because her singing has always been featured ahead of any visual image. Speaking for self, I’ve never even laid eyes on her despite the fact she’s worked with heavily with the Native Tongues collective, Common, Talib, JB’s and other acts since roughly 1990.
