Yesterday’s inbox deliveries included a specially packaged, Matrix-like red or blue pill parcel with Mr. Forte’s name stamped on two tracks and they’re both distinctly different but enjoyable. “King Tut” swipes Swizz’s song title and N.E.R.D.’s “God Bless Us All” big beat and it’s all braggadocious ‘Bere exercising his commanding voice over the blaring bassline. A collaboration between Snoop D-O-Double-G, Cudi and Diplo probably isn’t what you expected to wake up to as a part of your morning wake & bake, is it? In fact, seeing those names together kind of leaves you wondering who managed to pull such different personalities together. My first guess is Mary Jane obviously. And maybe it was the same influence that created a ho-hum song from three individuals I genuinely like and we usually rave about.
