PoV: Before The R-O-C Crumbled & Puffy Needed A Girl

07.13.11 Written by J. Tinsley

“But uhh, a thug changes, and love changes/And best friends, become strangers…”

Nostalgia at its finest here in this picture. J. Lo and Puffy together in happier times. Dame and Jay-Z running together like a young Marbury and Garnett. Read the rest of this entry »

Dirty Money – “No Ordinary Love (Coming Home Tour Edition)”

04.14.11 Written by TC

“No Ordinary Love (Coming Home Tour Edition)” marks the 6th time the “L” word is attached to a Dirty Money showing and to further increase the similarities, they kind of “pay homage” to the Sade record of the same name. With the smoothness intact, Diddy and his pussycat backup put a new spin on the rhythmic blues scene to commemorate their ongoing tour. Read the rest of this entry »

On Diddy, Blockbuster And A Thing Called Karma

04.06.11 Written by David D.

Dish Network, who clearly has a few hundred-million bucks sitting around and needs a tax write-off, bought out Blockbuster for $320 Million. The news was interesting to me solely for the fact that a.) I hadn’t even thought about Blockbuster for years and b.) I have no earthly idea why Read the rest of this entry »

Lil Wayne x Gudda Gudda – “That’s What They Call Me”

04.05.11 Written by J. Tinsley

“And since my case, I got all guns in my mama name…”

Here’s a novel idea. Wayne should release a No Ceilings 2 or Dedication 4, even prior to the fourth installment of Tha Carter. There still seems to be something missing about Wayne’s buzz as that May release date marches closer and closer. Read the rest of this entry »

Dirty Money Feat. Rick Ross & Trey Songz – “Your Love (Remix)” Video

03.31.11 Written by TC

Ross and Trigga already have standing contributions to Last Train In Paris, but when you’re playing the ratings game, originality is the first to go out the window. So what we have here is three Negreos in tuxuedos playing house in the Axis Chemical Factory like it’s the end of days. Read the rest of this entry »

On Lil B, Diddy, Odd Future And SXSW

03.21.11 Written by David D.

Pics via Houston Press

There was something different about SXSW this year that was hard to put a finger on at first. Parking was more difficult. Drinks were less potent and there were suddenly women showing up on 6th street at night wearing short skirts and stilettos. The indie event was starting to feel like a tourism spectacle, but the changes were mostly subtle.

That was until Diddy cooked. Read the rest of this entry »

Dirty Money’s Last Train Is Still Full Steam Ahead

03.17.11 Written by TC

Go head and lounge on the pillow if you want to, but Diddy and the girls with the filthy Ben Franks manufactured a pretty sound and solid piece of plastic with the Last Train To Paris. Upbeat and rhythmic, cutting yet familiar, the online campaign which featured a smattering of Diddy doing the most ridiculous things has fizzled a bit, yet and still, the music remains lively as ever. Recession Proof 2K11: Hip-Hop’s Reigning Cash Cows

03.10.11 Written by J. Tinsley

To be honest, there are so many of these lists that float around I forget which is which. Forbes compiled their top five wealthiest Hip-Hop artists and the tabulation pretty much went as expected. With the exception for one name. Read the rest of this entry »

Puffy Knocked Down The World Trade Center?

01.27.11 Written by Gotty™

Write this down. Here’s one instance in life where I may have to side with Puffy. Multiple infractions which indicate insanity here – including suing Puff for $900M – but dragging Rodney King’s good name into the fray seals the deal. Read the rest of this entry »

Mary J. Blige Feat. Lil Wayne & Diddy – “Someone To Love Me (Remix)”

01.12.11 Written by J. Tinsley

The road to Gold County or Platinumville is looking like it will be a long one for Dirty Money’s Last Train To Paris. In the meantime, the ensemble’s “Someone To Love Me” now has a facelift thanks in part to new Mary J. Blige vocals and a fresh verse from Young Money’s HNIC. The queen debuted the track last week while visiting Angie Martinez at the Hot 97 studios and here we are days later with the coveted “no DJ” version. Read the rest of this entry »

Rick Ross – Ashes To Ashes

12.24.10 Written by TC

First Rick Ross looked to kill his enemies with The Albert Anastasia EP. Then he sought to murder his competition with Teflon Don. Now he’s overseeing the immolation of the opposition on Ashes To Ashes. Oops, did I just say the same thing three different ways? Well, welcome to The Ricky Rozay Show! It’s nothing but heaps of materialism masked with a flow that can do the backstroke in a tidal wave. Read the rest of this entry »

“Strobe Lights” – Review Of Diddy-Dirty Money’s Last Train To Paris

12.21.10 Written by TC

Even with the “We Won’t Stop” slogan well-worn into our brains for its third consecutive decade, it is still quite the phenom to see Sean “Diddy” Combs make headway with his constantly dwindling rap resources. Long gone are the days when his “familia” scoured the charts to strengthen his musical empire with the past few years—unsurprisingly—forcing the multi-million dollar man’s recording duties to go into repose.
