Who Doesn’t Want To Share Good Times With Dave Coresh?

12.09.10 Written by David D.

Man, I miss Chicago. The frigid cold. The inability to feel my toes. The snot freezing on my face. Man, those were good times. This video uses great visuals to show the way Chicago looks around this time of year. I don’t mind the cold because the city is that great. Oh yeah, there’s also a guy rapping in it. Blake Kelly Feat. Dave Coresh – “So High Pt. 2″

04.27.10 Written by J. Tinsley

Any true leaf blower will tell you “4:20″ is simply another day. That’s for the “commercial” smokers, if you will. For that exact reason, Blake Kelly dropped off his latest tape, Forest Fires, the next day, April 21. It comprised of a collection of songs he had been recording since his last project, Higher Education. One of the standout tracks was his collaboration with fellow start up Dave Coresh for “So High Pt. 2.”

Backed by a melodic production from Ya Money (and the influence of Mary Jane), Kelly takes a lyrical ride as he progresses on his career thus far – filled with co-eds, music and kush. Flying in from the Midwest, Coresh explains what life is like around his neck of the woods. And if recent events have explained, it’s nothing nice.

So if drug tests are the furthest thing from your mind, and an everyday love affair with Mary is your thing, take a hit (or three). Then hit play.

Dave Coresh’s Formal Introduction

03.12.10 Written by David D.

You can stop procrastinating. Time to hop on the Dave Coresh bandwagon. I have no clue if I should pause that sentence or pray, but you get the idea. Coresh is dope and someone I see big things for in the coming year. The mixtape is presented by pretty much every blog I got to know and respect in Chicago: Fakeshore, Ruby Hornet, DJ Booth and Illroots. Now, you can add TSS to the list of co-signers. Listen, enjoy, and come back in a few months to say “I told you so” to all your friends who miss the boat.

Dave Coresh is next. There’s really nothing you can do about it.

Here’s another video to get you ready for Formal Introduction, dropping this month. This is four minutes of heat rock with enough punch lines to make Sinbad proud. Read the rest of this entry »

Meet Dave Coresh

02.26.10 Written by David D.

A few months ago, after the Clipse show in Chicago, a few guys huddled up outside and joined in on what the kids call a cipher. It was pretty much your standard fare until one guy took over and murked the whole scene.

The guy’s name was Dave Coresh.

I’ve been waiting on some music from him and apparently he has a mixtape called Formal Introduction. This video, liberated by the big homie Drew, shows Dave spitting some serious (in the “holy hell this guy can rap” sort of way) bars that will be found on the project.

Get familiar now before it’s too late.
