I knew nothing about these cats when I heard this song, but that is the beauty of this thing that we do here. I hear a track from some artist, realize I know nothing about said artist, search for everything I can about said artist and sometimes realize said artist is actually said artists plural.
The label “On The Grind” couldn’t have been any more suitable for rapper-production team Mistah F.A.B. and Tha Bizness. Fabby Davis has been lacing the internet as of late and Dow Jones & Henny have been hitting the studio themselves. While the GOP has made it’s way into the depths of history (much, much more on that later), the festivities are still going strong. If you’re in the Austin area, prepare yourself for the ATLien takeover as Killer Mike, Hollyweerd, Donnis and special guests *cough* infiltrate the Lone Star’s capital.
We’ve been calling him Bobby Ray for a minute so this suits me just fine. Now, The Artist Formerly Known As B.o.B. says that’s what he prefers that you call him as well.
“Now I go by the name ‘Bobby Ray.’ Make sure you put ‘Bobby Ray,’ ” the MC revealed. “I’m really going into a new direction — more free and not trying to live up to any particular genre. I don’t feel like I’ve been doing that. I don’t feel like I’ve been trying to fit in, but I feel even more free-spirited. I have more willingness musically. That’s all I’m about. I’m about guitars, chords and keyboards.”
