Melanie Fiona was brought back to help kick off season two of BET & Grey Goose’s collaborative Rising Icons series. I’m not sure what I’m more impressed with: the fact that BET produced something worthy of returning for a second season or how good her voice sounds. Read the rest of this entry »
BET’s Rising Icons is one of the few programming pluses the network created and should receive a round of applause for, especially since we all give them grief for the wild assortment of crap they do wrong. Read the rest of this entry »
Honestly, for everything BET gets wrong, they’ve gotten a good handle on their Rising Icons show. From the majority of artists they’ve picked to the presentation, the only thing lacking is for the package to receive a frumpy little bow to top it off. I was already on the cusp of saying how much I’ve enjoyed the musical maturation of Scotty. Yeah, we’ve seen these freshman for what seems like forever. Yet, what we sometimes lose track of the fact that Man On The Moon is his debut and he and his classmates are all still fresh in the game.
