Too often do we sift through the predictable media cycle of artists yelling how “crazy” their album is or even fixing their lying ass mouths to utter the other “C” word — classic. How about these C’s: cut the crap. Each year, the allure of the album continues to decrease thanks in part to overhyped, superfluous projects that only possess a handful of good songs. Busta’s new joint, Back On My B.S, wasn’t my style. His crazy ass flow, hyped with energy and passion, was all I and many of his fans ever wanted. Two decades since he first came on the scene as a Leader of The New School, Busta Rhymes has now become one of the elder statesmen of Hip-Hop. He got here by innovating his style, morphing to not only adjust with the times and climate but to occasionally even be a step ahead. Beware exposed Busta’s new remix for the pile of dung it really was. I’m not Arab, but mocking cultures doesn’t sit well with me, so I never got past listening to the original.

Then I saw on the news (not American) that DJs were losing their jobs over this song and its remix, notably the latter. At which point I backtracked to Beware’s post not only to listen to the song, but to read the comments. My man Amp said:

Is it really that bad?
Too much hate in Hip-Hop nowadays. It’s a fun song to get the party hype.
It’s not that serious.
