Channeling an audible aggression once perfected by their fallen comrade, Marshall Mathers and Nickel Nine bring back their bad & evil act for this nuclear new millennium on the freshly leaked “Living Proof.” Bragging, boasting and than dragging roasted bodies over string strikes and guitar riffs similar to a certain Doctor we dig, these two Detroit legends basically put on a clinic for every other MC holding a pen. Instead of just handing Lloyd Banks his well-deserved Gold plaque for “Beamer, Benz, Or Bentley,” Curtis and B Rabbit go all Ashton Kutcher and make the hottest member of G-Unit believe there had been murmurs of him saying he didn’t want Eminem to make an appearance on his third album, Hunger For More II. It’s questionable whether or not this was staged, but it’s pretty good nonetheless.

What’s also funny is the fact that Banks has two more hit singles than his boss and doesn’t have to do songs with Soulja Boy or Lil B.

Considering the amount of clout Doc Dre and Eminem possess, I could’ve easily come up with a catchy tag line to try and trick you into checking out this post. But, instead of saying “Eminem Worries About His Own Death,” “Dr. Dre Drops Exclusive Information About Detox,” or even “Aftermath’s Leading Artists Share Needles For Vibe’s Juice Issue,” I instead opted to let this rare combo cover (and interview sample) speak for itself. Possibly a piece of his supposed Reformation, “Gone” finds Aftermath cast-off Bishop Lamont enlisting John Mayer to play the Justin Timberlake to his T.I. on this lavishly produced laundry list of problems arisen from love lost. Detailed, disheartening and interwoven with epic grand piano keys, pulsating pads and devilish strings, this track sounds like it was meant for sexual education classes and executive produced by Tyler Perry. Since most of us have been in similar relationship runarounds and can relate, Lamont might finally have found that link between lauded and legitimate success with proper label support and a Red Shoe Diaries-like video.
