Given the parallels drawn between sports and music I’ve come to the conclusion that mixtapes are the closest thing we have to the NFL Combine. Despite our better judgment and what we’ve seen in the past, critics and fans alike continue to fall in love with measurements that don’t always give a true indication of what’s in front of us.
