Nobody Bought Robin Thicke’s Cringeworthy ‘Paula’ Album

Robin Thicke’s recent album Paula, a dedication to his former wife Paula Patton, bombed critically, amassing a score of only 48 on Metacritic, and it’s appeared to have bombed commercially now, too.

The album in its first week moved only 24,000 units (down from 177,000 for Blurred Lines) and it only managed to reportedly sell 530 copies in the United Kingdom. Seether, which is apparently still a band, moved more albums with its most recent album, Isolate and Medicate, than the former number, while some struggle rappers get more downloads on DatPiff than the latter number.

The 24,000 was good for the No. 9 spot on this week’s Billboard chart, however.

Add this nadir to the many Thicke’s experience since his February separation from Patton, including last week’s tire fire of a social media Q&A via VH1.

At least he has “Blurred Lines.” He’ll always have “Blurred Lines” and the summer of 2013.
