Troy Ave has been toiling away in the New York underground for years and the latest volume in his BSB series is a chest-pounding testament to his grind.

The most polished of the series, BSB Vol. 4 finds Troy alongside the members of his Brick Star Boys collective spitting the usual street raps mixed with some East Coast pride. The rest of the BSB have made strides, too, with posse joints like “Wolves & Snakes” and “4 Amigos”, but the main attraction is still Troy Ave. “Your Style” is reminiscent of something that would’ve had the city locked in the early 2000s. It’s also the closest thing to a radio single “Harry Powder”‘s had thus far.

Critics have knocked Troy for mimicking his influences, and while there are similarities, Troy is slowly developing his own sound. With it, Troy Ave is becoming the next New York rapper to watch, so pay attention.

Standout Songs: “Your Style”, “Wolves & Snakes” “My Lifetime feat. Memphis Bleek”
Songs To Skip: “Road Trip”
