The Ultimate Warrior’s Cause Of Death Has Been Revealed

A week after his death, Warrior’s (born James Hellwig) cause of death has finally been revealed.

The former wrestler who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame just three days before his death, died from cardiovascular disease. This caused the heart attack that took his life, the AP reports. They also note that there was no foul play involved.

As many of you know, I was on Nancy Grace’s show last week in what has become a controversial segment as she went pretty far out of her way to make Warrior’s death about steroid use in professional wrestling. As I tried to mention on the show, it’s hard to pinpoint any specific cause of death for a man who’s been out of the public spotlight for 15 years.

Also, it’s important to note that Warrior’s father and grandfather also died in their 50s. Warrior spoke prophetically about his potential early death for a deposition in 1999: “I’m thinking about, you know — I just had my 37th birthday. I got 20 years left in my life maybe. I mean, you know, I’m doing these calculations in my head. My grandfathers die at 52.”

While I’m sure this won’t put an end to any accusations Nancy Grace or Colin Cowherd throw around, hopefully these answers will allow the rest of us to focus on his legacy and not irresponsible finger-pointing.

R.I.P. Warrior.
