New Infographic Shows Diddy Really Didn’t Invent The Remix

Sean Diddy Puffy Combs did not invent the remix, as he proclaimed triumphantly throughout Bad Boy’s heyday.

Surely we all knew that at this point, but Every Instrumental ensures that we’ll never get our remix facts mixed up again with their nifty little infographic on the remix’s history.

The site maps out a timeline of the remix’s origins–starting in 1950 with the invention of multi-track recording–provides examples of how American branding has incorporated the word, and even lists a poll of the most popular remixes.

We find the most popular remixes to be slightly dubious (what–no Pete Rock or “Ignition” remixes? SMDH, obvz), but the rest is interesting rap food for thought.

Peep the whole thing below, and hit the comments if something doesn’t add up.
