Just when we thought Jordans couldn’t get anymore hyped, a little something called the 3Lab5s dropped. And while this past Jordan 3Lab5 release indeed created a massive amount of hype, this upcoming release will pretty much body any others. With a little something from the past and a little something from the future, the Jordan 3Lab5 ‘Infrared 23′ is looking to break your bank before 2014 arrives.
Using the iconic elephant print from the Jordan 3 along with the ever popular Infrared color from the Jordan 6s, the name might have to change to 3Lab56. Slight tweaks to the original design of the Jordan 5 give the shoe an entirely different feel. They boast an almost completely one piece suede upper while relying on Vac Tech to add extra texture. The side mesh panel is replaced by suede with a leather sockliner. The only ice left on the shoe remains on the lower portion of the tongue and outsoles, which is a plus considering how quickly past releases have yellowed.
Given the thought put into this hybrid design and the infamous colorway, the increased price tag is justifiable. Surprising, given this is Jordan Brand we’re talking about. We’re not fans of hybrids per se but the 3lab5s are a start in the right direction for the company.
The Jordan 3Lab5 ‘Infrared 23′ drops December 31st.
