Michael Carter-Williams was a year old when Ice Cube’s “Today Was A Good Day” dropped. Either way you better believe he jammed to that song in pre-game warm ups. The Syracuse product f*cked around and nearly up a QUADRUPLE DOUBLE (22 points, 12 assists, 7 boards and 9 steals) in his rookie debut and led Philly to a victory over the Heat 114-110. I don’t have rookie debut stats on hand but it’s safe to say his start is pretty historic. Most first year players sh*t their pants on opening night so, Michael Carter-Williams, good on you for sidestepping the trend.
Philly led comfortably early and staved off The Heat’s second half comeback. The Sixers must have felt the energy from Bubba Chuck’s retirement honoring at the game. They took full advantage of Wade-less Miami on a back-to-back as their 19-0 lead broke the game open.
Also, I don’t know if you guys noticed, but Evan Turner aka Lt. Tuffteef put that man NorBel on a poster. Everybody get’s got in the league and all but, still, saying “Evan Turner dunked on LeBron James” makes me laugh for some reason. Turner also had the game high with 26 points.
Now let’s bear witness to every fantasy owner on the planet scrambling for Carter-Williams and Turner in free agency.
