Only on a fourth listen, JMSN’s “The One” already ranks as a personal favorite from 2013.
That’s because it has less to do with the music than the place “One” actually takes the listener throughout the five-and-a-half minute pilgrimage. Where that is exactly is completely subjective, but it undoubtedly stakes its claim as an anthem for late-night trips to God knows where to see God knows who. It’s mood music, arguably in its finest form since Joe Budden abandoned the direction years ago.
Thus far, JMSN’s batting 1.000 in terms of glimpses into his †Pllajë† EP releasing November 5 via his own White Room Records.
