Let’s not put too much thought into what the world will look like post-Breaking Bad for that’s a pretty sizable hole to fill. Still, for those who were wondering, series star Aaron Paul has been plotting his next move for a while now. And that move involves starring in a major studio video game movie. Bring on Need For Speed!*
Based on the popular car-racing gaming franchise, the first trailer promises everything that the Fast And Furious series has provided for years. But with an incredible actor, who everybody with a taste for pop culture is keeping tabs on. Except we can add in that it looks better than anyone could’ve anticipated.
It isn’t exactly the role that most of us would have preferred Paul take, considering how incredibly generic everything seems (it’s being released in March, not exactly a vote of confidence in the movie industry). But it shouldn’t make or break his post-AMC career. Speed definitely has a chance to do well against whatever other early spring drivel it goes up against, so let’s just hold judgement for a bit, and know that we’re going to be seeing a lot more of Jesse Pinkman in the future.
Need For Speed arrives at theaters in March 2014.
* — No, you’re eyes aren’t fooling you because, yes, that is Kid Cudi you see. He’s in the film, too.
