Raj hinted at the idea that TDE’s been extremely busy the few months, leaving a noticeable hole in the current rap rotation. Now, within a span of less than 24 hours, we’ve gotten a track from Ab-Soul (“Chris DRONEr”) followed up by ScHoolBoy’s feature on Stalley’s “NineteenEighty7.”
Continuing the run, here’s the visual to Q’s “Collard Greens” to round things out. Of course, you already know Kendrick’s featured on the cut but all the birds flocking around the pool and cuttin’ up was a little unexpected. Welcome, no doubt, but unexpected. These guys always seem so serious, like a team full of Sharif’s from Menace, focused on the bigger mission. Tis cool to see them letting loose*.
I’m still warming up to “Collard Greens” versus being instantly smitten with “Yay Yay.” Put both together and OxyMoron’s slowly building momentum.
* — Don’t get it twisted. I only want to see them relax for a minute. The rest of the time they should keep their collective foot firmly planted on rap’s neck. Put pressure on all the doofy cats making lame shit.
