Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J. Cole Lead The 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards Nominations

By Word / 08.23.13

Kendrick Lamar leads the 2013 BET Hip Hop awards nominations with a whopping 14 nods, followed by Drake’s 13 and Jermaine Cole’s 11. All three rappers will be battling each other for a number of awards, including “Lyricist Of The Year,” with Jay Z and Wale rounding out the category’s five nominees. Also, K-Dot and Cole will go up against Nas, Jay Z and Wale for “Album Of The Year” crown.

Also picking up a sh*tload of nominations is 2 Chainz with nine nods, A$AP Rocky with eight and Kanye West with four.

Hosting the awkwardness that will be the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards is Snoop Dogg. The show goes down September 28th at the Atlanta Civic Center and will air on the network October 15, giving editors plenty of time to edit out whatever rap shenanigans that are bound to ensue.
