Drake – “Hold On We’re Going Home”

By Gotty™ / 08.06.13

Why not continue to shine while the spotlight’s on you? That has to be Drake’s thought process right now. After gaining the whole rap world’s attention with the success of last night’s OVO Fest, the Toronto-born star debuted “Hold On We’re Going Home,” a new single from his upcoming album Nothing Was The Same.

The new track comes right on the heels of “All Of Me” hitting the web last Thursday and it sounds completely different than anything Drake’s released previously. A play for pop and radio or just Drizzy utilizing those vocal lessons he’s taken? On first listen, it feels like Drake tapped into ’80s-driven, easy listening radio demographic. “Home…” is light, breezy and…well, the man said Nothing Was The Same.

We’ll see how really true that is on September, 17.

Update: CDQ added.
