A quizzical moment in rap happened on Twitter over the weekend. Drake took the time to quote Willie The Kid’s lyrics not once, but two times in a row. That comes after October’s Very Own cited WTK as one of the best young artists last year. What does all that mean?
“…I’m camouflage, Camel toes get the cucumber in the coupe.”
Nothing. I just find it gratifying to hear Drizzy, an MC who’s supposed to be at the top of the game, repeatedly recognizing the wit and wordplay of a Willie The Kid. The rap equivalent of LeBron dappin’ Paul George or something.
Riding shotgun with Alchemist behind the boards for the whole ride, WTK will be releasing the Masterpiece Theater EP in July and “Halal Tuna” is the first dosage from the project.
