Boston Celtics Stare Down Knicks, Elimination To Win Game 4

By AJ / 04.28.13

For two quarters, the Boston Celtics seemed assured a Game 5. Paul Pierce’s shot was going in, and minus Raymond Felton, nobody on the Knicks seemed capable of keeping pace. Getting outscored by 17 in the second half probably wasn’t a part of the game-plan, though, as New York forced overtime. Thanks to some timely shooting from one of the Celtics’ newest members, though, the city of Boston could exhale, and look forward to an extended series after winning game four 97-90.

Jason Terry proved the difference-maker. The Jet scored seven points in overtime, hitting a timely pull-up three and a nifty mid-range shot to bury New York. If you’re a Celtics fan, the fact that this game even went to overtime was a slap in the face, but a win is a win is a win.

The Celtics now travel to New York for Game 5. And, while it’s hard to envision them winning the series outright, one has to hope that they can extend it as long as possible, especially if the Kevin Garnett retirement rumors are true.
